Search Engine Submissions

Submitting your website to the search engines is just a small component to organic search engine optimization. The idea of submitting to the same search engines every month for a web site has long been a misconception. Unless your web site is new, or has never been crawled by a search engine, most websites are submitted 1-2 times.

Once a website is submitted, it is up to the search engine itself to ‘crawl’, ‘spider’ or read your pages. Search engines may take 30 to 60 days to complete this process. As it finishes this task, it will begin to rank your web site within its search results. Unfortunately it doesn’t necessarily mean instant rankings at the top of the pages. Over time, using proper optimization techniques and regular crawling of your web pages, the site will improve.

“Search Engine Submissions” include all of the major U.S. Search Engines and their international versions. IHS Website Solutions DOES NOT include submission to any Free-For-All (FFA) sites, which many companies use to increase the number of sites they claim to submit you to.

Inclusion on these FFA sites can actually penalize you in the major search engines, does not help generate any qualified traffic, and is guaranteed to generate a lot of spam in your mailbox.
